Can RDH administer Nitrous Oxide or just “monitor” it, can we tx plan/diagnose SRP in Texas

So, in Texas I am certified to “monitor” nitrous oxide. I believe the DDS has to initiate it, but am I allowed to titrate the nitrous to a higher concentration?? I know I am allowed to turn nitrous down an O2 up, just unclear about the other. I have looked and looked at Texas Dental Practce Act and still unsure. Also, Texas RDH cannot “diagnose” any disease. Am I not allowed to diagnose perio or need for SRP tx? Isn’t diagnosing perio/gingivitis considered a Dental Hygiene Diagnosis? Please help Texas friends!

For questions regarding your state’s Dental Practice Act, it’s always best to contact your Dental Board. They wrote the rules and uphold them, so they are the best to interpret them for you. I say this because someone else’s interpretation could be misguided and you don’t want to put your license in jeopardy because someone (not from the Board) interpreted the Practice Act incorrectly.
