Diode laser and CHX use

When I took the Diode laser course many years ago I remember them saying that you where not to do irrigation of CHX rinse with the laser and SRP. Just wondering if a bottle of CHX rinse would be ok to be sent home for later use? If so how long should they wait to start using it?

I would recommend talking with a laser instructor or calling the manufacturer about this question to get a definitive answer.

I would like to mention that Chlorhexidine’s intended use is for gingivitis, as it inhibits fibroblast reattachment, which is the whole point of periodontal therapy (SRP). So, perhaps, sending your patients home with CHX is unneeded. Just my two cents!
