Do you polish or scale on occlusal surfaces?

When polishing, do you polish occlusals? How about scale in occlusals if there is stain?

I will ultrasonic or scale the occlusal surface if there is visible calculus/staining. As I’m polishing I will run the prophy cup over all the occlusal surfaces to remove plaque/bacteria.
