Elbow Supports

Hey! I was wondering if anyone has used elbow supports for their operator stools? I have a terrible habit of abducting my left elbow when I work (right handed clinician) and I have been looking into purchasing some. Anyone with any info about it, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

I haven’t used elbow supports often, but I have used them if I work out of the doctors room for any reason. The doctors in my office have them on their chairs and use them; when I tried using them I just found they were in my way. I tend to lift my right elbow (I am a left handed clinician), but the elbow supports were just annoying to me. If it is something you think would help you though, you could try to see if there is a trial period for them. Maybe the company you buy them from would allow you a certain period of time to try them and if you don’t like them, you can send them back for a full refund. A lot of dental companies have trial periods like that so you could do some research and see. You could also call a couple places and ask them if they offer that before you actually purchase them.

I hope this helps you a little bit!

I haven’t personally used elbow supports (arm rest) however here’s an article of why they can be beneficial in dentistry: http://www.dentalproductsreport.com/dental/article/armrests-or-no-armrests
If they can minimize the risk of musculoskeletal injuries and work for you, I’d say go for it!
