Getting back to work

I have not worked for 13 years while raising kids. I have a license in Wa state but now live in Idaho. I would love to work in the field again but the thought of taking a board after 25 years seems impossible. I could move back to washinton work 1000 hours then return to Idaho and apply for a license at tht point but that would be difficult. I’m looking into DH refresher courses. Has anyone attended theses courses? I would greatly appreciate and thoughts, advice or suggestions. Feeling rather discouraged:(

Don’t feel discouraged! While I have not attended a refresher course, here are a few I found:

https://www.adha.org/resources-docs/71613_Re_Entry_Programs.pdf

https://www.dentistry.umn.edu/continuing-dental-education/lecture-and-participation-courses/dental-hygiene-refresher-online-hands-clinical-program

Perhaps you could contact local hygiene programs and inquire if they know of any refresher courses or hold one of their own.

I might also suggest reading hygiene publications, research, etc. and making sure you are up to date on the newest protocols, if you don’t do that already.

Again, don’t feel discouraged! You got this!
