I work 32-34 hours in a 4 day work week. I doubt my body could handle another day a week.

Currently, I work three days per week, sometimes 4 if the “Friday hygienists” decide they can’t come in after patients have been scheduled for them. I see 8 patients per day (one hour appointments) starting at 8:00 AM and ending at 5:00 PM with an hour lunch. My body can’t handle anymore than 3 days per week! In the past I have worked 4-5 days per week and it took a toll on my hands and neck/back, plus I was getting burnt out. Everyone is different, you need to do what you can handle!

I just took a new job at an office that is open 12 hours a day 7 days a week. Employees work 3 12 hour days a week. I did it to spend 4 days a week at home with my kids but still get in full time hours and a full time paycheck. I haven’t started working there yet so time will tell if I like that schedule or not. I hope I do because a 12 hour day sounds exhausting to me right now!

I just started working at an office where most days are approx 10 hours, so like 32 to possibly 40 for four days. It is a lot more exhausting than the half days (or even 8-5s) I was working before, but I enjoy it so far!

I work 4 eight hour days that always turn into 10 hour days due to running late. I stopped working fridays and saturdays once I had my daughter because obviously 6 days a week is a lot.

I work 4 days a week, 8 hour days with an occasional Friday. I have one child in college with a second one headed there next year. I want to help them so they don’t have a great deal of debt when they are done. I love what I do, I use to work 6 days a week but have cut back after 30 years.

I work mon-fri, 45+ hrs if needed. 40 min appointments so on long days I see 10-13 patients.0 I’m the only hygienist and have been working there for almost a year. I’m starting to get burnt out and hand/back are really starting to bother me. I’ve been doing hygiene for 5 years and am really thinking about doing something out because the long hours Are getting to me.

I love my new work schedule two says are 7-3 the rest 9-5 I get 25-32 hours a week and that’s plenty and I’m a one income household! I get to do more things at my sons school!

I work about 42 hours a week. M 7-7, T 7-4, W 7-5, T 7-4 and F 7-12. Of course coming in early and staying after to clean up. Mondays are long but getting off early Friday makes it worth it. It is a lot of hours with a new baby at home but the paycheck is good.

I work 32 hours a week, M,T,Th and Friday. I see 10 patients a day. I have done this for 38 yrs. Hope to cut back to 3 days once son finishes grad school next year. I worked 5 days a week for a year when my daughter started college but it was too intense.

I’ve been working 20 hrs. a week (M-Th 8 to 1) for 7 years now. After 18 years in practice, I don’t think my hands or back could handle it being full time. I love my schedule…I have time to be a mom and work. The best of both worlds.

I work 4 1/2 days a week for a total of 36 hrs. In the summer I take every other Friday off ( unpaid of course) but Friday is my half day anyways. I get 50 min on average although I have a few patients specifically I book for an hour and a few partially edentulous patients that I see in 40 min. I’d love to only work 3 days a week but finances don’t allow it. I have been working rtf his schedule for 16 years. However if I need time off for my kid I take it and my boss wouldn’t dream of complaining since that is the only reason I don’t show up!

I love my office hours! Monday we work 12-7:30. We go in at noon and do our weekly chores for an hour and start seeing pts at one. This accommodates those pts that have to work late and they don’t have to take off work. Tuesdays and Wednesdays we work 8:30-5:30 and Thursdays 7:30-4:30. This is 32 hrs/week. I do sometimes fill in on Fridays at another office when they need me…but I live for my 3 day weekends! 🙂

I work 3.5 days a week. Off Monday and do half day Fridays. I’m looking to cut back the half day when my daughter is out of grad school. That will be 2 more years…yay! I’ve never worked more than 4 days. I would totally burn out!
