Thank you for everyones kind words. The good thing is I will get to practice at a clinic here in town and do scrp’s. I guess it just sucks that I was the ONLY one in my class that failed. I have talked to several instructors and they all told me they know my skills are good I was just very nervous that day. To top it off the DDS took 17 minutes to administer the anesthesia, my patient went to the bathroom (yes I told her to go before) and then when I started using the ultrasonic and her giant calculus ledges started coming off she started DRY HEAVING and almost threw up because she said it tasted and smelled bad. That really put me on edge. Then the anesthesia did not reach the midline, I was doing LRQ and so she was sensitive but I knew I didn’t have time for the doc to come back and give more.

My dad has hep c. We think he got it when he was a little boy living in Mexico and they only boiled needles and reused them. We found out about 8 years ago. My mom got tested and she does not have hep c. So it is very possible that the husband does not have it. Even if he does, universal precautions. I was taught to assume everyone has the worst. Because you just never know.
