Protocol for pt that have had heart bypass surgery?

I have a patient that had quadruple heart bypass 6 weeks ago. He is a periomaintanance patient. Is there a protocol for he long we should wait for his recare from the time of surgery?

It might be best for you to call the patient’s doctor/surgeon and obtain a written release stating when the patient is safe to undergo dental treatment.

At my office, we always get clearance by the doctor treating the patient for whatever the condition may be before preforming dental treatment, just to be safe.
