Boss Retiring

I need some advice. I work in a very small office. My boss is retiring as well as his secretary. I don’t know the proper protocol about hosting a retirement party. Our assistant is also leaving too. Do I have to host a joint party for everyone? Does the dentist’s family host a party? I’m a little lost considering our secretary is leaving as well. Any advice is helpful! Thanks!

I’m not an expert in party planning, but I would do one party for all of them, as to not leave anyone out. Whether the dentist’s family hosts a party is completely up to them. For ideas I would Google such things as retirement party planning, office retirement party planning, things like that. I don’t think there’s really any right or wrong way to plan a small party. The most important thing is that you cared enough to take the time to do it! It doesn’t need to be elaborate either, so have fun with it!
