My DDS likes to have us take 4BWs and panos instead of FMX. We just had a meeting yesterday and he wants us to start taking 7 VBW every other year so he can see the anterior teeth, which I think is great, but he told us to take the 7 VBWs but charge it out as 4 BWs and 3 PAs because the INS will be more likely to pay for it. Is this insurance fraud!!!?????
Yes charging out for something that is not completed during an appointment in order to obtain more funds from insurance is considered insurance fraud.
Thank you so much! Thanks for the article too. It will help me when I bring this to his attention!
