I have them in my SRP packs for deep pockets and furcations. I find I can feel with my scalers by using a light stroke in <4 pockets. I think it is certainly a personal preference.
Each hygienist prefers certain instruments. As you go through working interviews you will see many different instrument set-ups! Personally, I have an 11/12 on every tray.
My office has an 11/12 in some packs but not all. When I have a perio maintenance srp or new patient I try to grab a pack with an 11/12. It varies but don’t be afraid to ask for what you need to do your job thoroughly if the office doesn’t have it.
All of the above. Once you get a job you should be allowed to update your setups. Order what you like or want to try. Dentist like a sharp explorer for caries detection and we like 11/12 for pockets.
I have 11/12 in S/RP packs and keep a few single packs of them in drawer for a regular prophy if I should need it. I cannot imagine why any hygienist would not have an 11/12.
Thats interesting because I always use my 11/12 and have requested it any where I temp. To me its a must have.
