What do you use to explore for calculus when you don’t have that nice hygiene specific explorer (can’t remember the name!)?? The shepherd’s hook isn’t that great for interproximals.

I really feel that every hygiene set-up should have an 11/12 explorer. You can feel some deposits when you floss the patient, but string floss only reaches so deep. Using your curettes/scalers you can feel deposits, then engage the blade when you feel something. However, I don’t think any thing compares to a good ‘ol 11/12 explorer.
