Florida to California License.

Entering my second year of dental hygiene school in Florida however, my family has moved to California. I’ll have to take the WREB vs the NERB my school is focusing on. Will I have to take extra classes out in California before sitting for the WREB exam? I know I’ll have to take the law exam out there as well, but can take the national here. Any information would be helpful. I’m rather down about all this in the meantime. 🙁 Thank you.

I’m currently in the process of this! You will have to take the WREB, or there is an exam administered by the DHCC in California OR you can take the CRDTS-which is what I did. I was able to find a location in driving distance from where I was in FL. So I took care of that before coming here. The other biggie that you’ll NEED is a CA board approved STC/Anesthesia/Nitrous course. There are currently only 2 places that offer this exam and it’s expensive! $4400. Its 3 weekends in a row and I just finished my first weekend. And then of course the CA law exam. Hope this helps!

I would call the California Dental Board directly and ask those questions or go onto their website. Good luck!!

You could also call WREB directly at 1-602-944-3315. WREB has an anesthesia written and clinical portion that you have to pass that will enable you to administer anesthesia, it was around $500.00.
