At my office we take an FMX every 5 years on a healthy adult and every 3 years with pt’s that have periodontal disease. I believe every 5 years is the standard of care for healthy adults.

Just like WarnerSL said, standard of care is every 5 years.

3, 5, 7 or 10 years. I say 7-10 years because there have been many that fall through the cracks, no insurance or refuse at 3-5 year interval.

Our office adheres to the standard of care at 5 years. However, if a patient has a healthy mouth and has legitimate concerns over radiation ( like if they are under going radiation tx now or recently), the Dr will sometimes let it go to 7 years but never longer.
