General nurse (medical) or dental hygienist ???

Hi guys …im in quite of a dilemma here …im a registered general nurse (not dental nurse) …but I’m seriously thinking on doing a 2 year course to become a dental hygienist…now the question is :is it worth it ????
I understand that I’m the only one who can answer this question but in order to do that ,perhaps y’all can help me by answering the following questions :
How many days per week must be at uni???..very important as I need to support myself and family (2 kids)
How much a newly qualified earn ?? I’m currently taking home as an agency nurse …before tax .. just over £6000 p/m for 5 night a week .
How I know that it’s unlikely I’ll take that home as a dental hygienist but I’m 35 and I want to start looking into a 9-5 job or at least perhaps a job where I can have the flexibility like you all have.
Will be really good if you can help me as I’m not sure what to do …next intake is September but must get ready ..
Many thanks and hope you all have a merry Christmas!!

I can only speak for the United States and I don’t think that will help you much, unfortunately. It might be best for you to reach out to the program director at a hygiene program in your area and ask these questions, as they will have better insight. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help!
