I am about to move to Indianapolis and I think the going rate is $30-35/hour. I will be at an urgent care dental office that is open 12 hours a day 7 days a week so I will probably see 9-12 patients a day. Its not comission but we can earn a daily bonus if we hit our daily goal amount of $1200-1500.

Another source of averages for DH rates is your local unemployment branch.I feel temp hygienists should get approx. $2. per hour more due to the fact of lack of benefits and helping the office out.

To find specific wage rates you should check out state’s employment agency and bureau of labor websites for occupational breakdowns.

I’m in a small community in Oregon. The average pay here is $40+ an hour depending on experience. On average 8-10 patients a day depending on adults/kids. Most are not paid production.
