How do you keep track of recall?

Does anyone have any ideas regarding keeping track of recalls? Especially perio patients? After srp my doctors protocol is to do a 1 month reval/perio Maint visit then 3 month recalls after that. My doctor has been telling me I need to know who needs appointments but there is absolutely no way for me to know off the top of my head! I can’t even remember some patients. Any ideas? some patients don’t want to schedule their next visit in the office so they just fall off… we
Have no pamphlets brochures for anything so I’ve been thinking if I can make or buy some about perio and importance of recalls maybe that will help with retention and scheduling.

It sounds like your office is underutilizing the capabilities of your dental software; keeping track of recalls is much easier done with the program your office uses. This is exactly where a strong front office person or team comes in; to be on top of recalls using dental software because the back office is busy rendering treatment.
On a side note, I think it’s a silly and an unattainable request from your doctor for you to “remember” every patient’s recall. Plus, our memory isn’t always accurate, where a date typed into a computer is (assuming it was typed in correctly). Wouldn’t your doctor prefer accuracy? Food for thought!
