I am wondering if commission out weighs hourly wage?

It really depends on the office. If it is a busy office with a low rate of no-shows/cancellations it can generate more income than hourly. Also depends on if you are seeing a lot of perio patients and performing SRPs/perio maint.

For me it does. But it will definitely depend on the office. My front desk is great about prescheduling & filling last min cancellations. Also depends on what you get commission on- I get 30% on everything I do. This includes exams w/ dr., bleaching, x-rays, sealants, ng’s, etc.

Depends. In my office we are under so many low paying contracted fees due to insurance that commission would be horrible. A prophy fee can be anywhere from $49 to $90 and perio main from $49 to $134!
I have friends that love commission and would never dream of going hourly.
