I’d really like to get a Masters Degree, but I’m not exactly sure what to get it in. I don’t think an MDH will serve me well since I’m not inclined toward research. I’d love to hear what other clinical hygienists have for advanced degrees! Thanks!

It really depends what YOUR goals are for your career. A Masters in Dental Hygiene doesn’t mean your only focus can be on research, it has many more applications, even working for a dental (product) company. If you want to pursue teaching at a hygiene school, then a Masters of Education (M.Ed) would be appropriate. If you want to pursue business like consulting or starting your own dental job site, then an MBA would be appropriate. So again, it really comes down to what you personally want to do. It’s a decision only you can make, good luck!
