Starting new job, any advice?

I’m starting a new job next week. Any advice? I won’t have any time for shadowing – just jumping right in with treating patients. Going an a little early to familiarize myself with where everything is and office protocol/computer system, etc.

Sometimes jumping right in is the best way to learn! It’s stressful at first, but “doing” is the greatest teacher. Be prepared with questions to the most pertinent info you feel you will need right off the bat: does an assistant help perio chart, when does dr like to do the exam and how much time does he like, radiograph protocol, etc.? Remember, you are a trained professional and know what you are doing, just not where you are doing it at. Don’t get frustrated, things will get easier! Be confident and good luck!
