I think Livionex is awesome! It uses a totally new approach in reducing the adherence of biofilm/bacteria with chelators. The difference between regular paste and Livionex is the activated Edathamil. Livionex contains no foaming agents (SLS) for sensitive patients (burning mouth syndrome, allergies, etc.), nor does it contain abrasives, gluten, antimicrobials, or glycerin. I have seen calculus and inflammation reduction in patients who have switched to Livionex. I’ve also noticed, personally, that its not strongly flavored. It is more expensive than OTC paste, however in my experience, its worth it for those who could benefit from it. You can also polish with it right after SRPs because it contains no abrasives that can get lodged in a sulcus during healing. Same thing goes for polishing crowns, its totally safe because of no abrasives. Even further, means Livionex is made with 100% ingestible material, it is safe if a child accidentally swallows it (of course that’s not recommended!). I hope this helps!
