New graduate in Roanoke,VA

Hi, I’ve recently graduated and moved to Roanoke with my husband. I thought there would be jobs here, however I’ve called 60 offices and haven’t found any leads. I’ve sent resumes to a three places. What should I do? Today I called back one office and told them how interested I am in the position. They also asked about pay and I said any. Thanks for any tips on job hunting. After calling so many offices and being told “no we’re not hiring thank you bye” , it’s so devastating. I don’t even have time to say thank you or ask if I can bring a resume by just incase.

Get your resume together and go in person to the office. Make sure you dress professionally. Don’t be afraid to let them know you are new to the area and are willing to sub for vacations or sick leave.

I agree with Lrskda. Delivering resume personally can get your foot in the door. I know some resumes have small headshot photo. Also, research each office for hours and go around mid morning or mid afternoon. You may get a chance to meet the doctor around certain times.
