Oral cancer screenings not being done in your office? Why? Please let me know.

Hello Everyone, I was wondering if anyone is working for a dental office where the dentist doesn’t do oral cancer screenings or maybe doesn’t want the RDH doing them either because of oral cancer screenings

I have no idea what the Doctor does in his operatory. ..but I know I do them in mine…I would never consider not doing them either…

We are the first line of defense for spotting oral cancers and they are on the rise. HPV has become a big factor in cancer causes…We need to be doing them.

I work in 2 offices. In one of them, the dr gives an exhaustive exam, which could last 20 minutes sometimes. The dr always checks for oral cancer.
The other office I work at, we are required to do the screening and check for cervical cavities. All the dr does is probing and occlusal checks.
I would imagine that in the end, the legal liability would fall on the dentist, not you. I will tell you that my one boss, who has been practicing for 35 years has never found cancer.
