New office has not had RDH in 2+ years. Dentist has performed all cleanings, with dental assistants polishing patients prior to scaling. Now, if I run behind the Dr. has assistants polish patients before I have a chance to see them. Most recently I have overheard the DA tell a patient they were going to perform their prophy and then the Dr. would be in to scale. Also, went to clean a patient, and was told by the Dr. “that’s ok, the DA has already done the prophy and I’ll finish up here. The Dr. has also allowed her DA to see new patients and polish them prior to the Dr. even coming in and checking for calculus, probing depths, etc. I had spoken with the Dr. prior to hearing and seeing these things happen again, and stressed that Dental Assistants are not allowed to perform a prophy. How do I address this again? It’s not legal,
