Pediatric patient with Cyclic Neutropenia

I have a new patient to my practice who has this disorder. She is 9 years old. I promised her I would become an expert for her. She suffers from severe ulcers and mom has to schedule appointments around her “levels”. I will be scouring pubMed and dental sites to learn as much as I can so that I can treat her as best as I can. I wanted to reach out to see if any of you have similar patients and what you have learned.
I recommended Arm&Hammer toothpaste to neutralize the pH in hopes to prevent or lessen her ulcers. However, because of her disorder, I don’t know if that would even help. Thanks!

If plaque is heavy you may recommend Dry Brushing twice daily in addition to the morning and bedtime brushing with fluoride toothpaste. Dry brush until the teeth Taste and Feel clean….5-10-20 minutes.
Compounding pharmacy may have some ideas as well.
