1 Answer

Perio Maintenance follows scaling and root planing procedures (D4341/D4342), gingival flap surgery (D4240/D4241), or osseous surgery (D4260/D4261). A prophy is for the healthy patient, it is a preventive procedure (no signs of periodontal disease). Whereas perio maintenance is for a patient with clinical attachment loss (bone loss, recession, furcations).
