Pregnant with geographic tongue

I’m 6 months pregnant and I have geographic tongue. Usually doesn’t bother me, but now I seem to have more frequent flare ups and it lasts longer. Usually occurred with Mexican food and acidic salad dressing, but it seems as though everything agitates it now. I don’t want to use any topical anesthetic and mint doesn’t seem to help. I was wondering if anyone has come across this and what did your pt’s try and/or what did you recommend. Thank you

Have you changed toothpaste as that could be irritating your tongue & stay away from tartar control or whitening toothpaste. Obviously stay away from the foods that irritate it most. Try ice cubes for the pain. Maybe try warm salt water rinses w/ less salt than you would normally use?

Sockitgel.com can help. Stay away from any and all acidic foods. Dry brush with just water and use a sodium bicarbonate toothpaste at night. It’s stress induced also hormones and acidic foods/drinks.
