I limit interaction with negative people….I’ve been practicing 28 years and have seen all kinds of people, all kinds of favoritism (some inappropriate lol)…but my schedule is full and I just knock it out, take care of my own business, and it always just seemed to not interfere with my days…only at one office was another hyg also acting office manager and a real p.i.t.a….I quickly moved on to something better and tolerable…plenty out there not to put up with BS ๐
Question: Started a new office the the existing RDH is not friendly | September 26, 2014
Im not sure a temp agency is the way to go…Being honest here but I’ve been practicing 28 years and offices use temp agencies as a last resort…many hygienists we experience thru an agency we are happy not to have often…when I relocated to another state I got my resume together with an intro letter…expressing my desire for permanent hours but offering myself as a call in for fill in, or even sick days…I instantly got part time hours and was called often by several of the offices happy not to have to use temps…spread your resume to all offices in your area…many offices need a few hours here and there and dont advertise…a foot in very often leads to more…temp yourself, no agency needed…in my 28 years I’ve always started part time and quickly moved to more hours if I wanted them…just gwt your name/number in their hands…good luck ๐

Are they watching you throw each mask out…just change it anyway! Lol…sometimes its not worth a verbal battle over a stupid request…I would without a doubt change it out…my face, my safety…he can wear the same one but im not …thats insane…if he’s truly checking trash just hand him OSHA guidelines…do what you know is correct

As for the question at hand…better detection comes with time…if in doubt, mark it for the doctor… ๐
Question: Detecting Decay | August 10, 2014
We definitely do detect decay as well as desease, infection, and more…As a hygienist first in MA now in IL, I am sometimes in my office without direct supervision. ..if I am not detecting, and treatment planning who is?…I detect, chart findings, educate the patient on findings and needs, and treatment plan those needs…If no doctor is in the office I schedule necessary appointments and leave a note to review my findings…if he is in the office he comes in for the courtesy visit and gives the ok on my treatment plan and lets me know what times slots work for him…while we are not making the final decisions (diagnosing) on needs, we are handling it under general supervision and that often involves making decisions on their needs and scheduling them with the doctor in a follow up visit to confirm and fix/fill ๐
