Thanks for your answer! I just had my review and was informed that in the future I may be told to punch out when there are gaps in my schedule. I’m floored they are thinking like this. I call my past due patients and am always busy when I don’t have a patient. I don’t know what to do but am thinking I need to move on.
Question: My job was posted online | March 18, 2017
I worked part-time while in hygiene school, while going through a divorce and caring for 2 young children. Yes, it can be done, but you must be determined and motivated. For me, my kids inspired me to keep going because I knew I needed to support them. I had no life for those few years and studied day and night but I finished! Prepare ahead of time and ask for help. I also got a lot of help financially with grants for college because I was a single mom. I hope this is helpful and good luck!
Question: Is it possible to work during hygiene school? | November 4, 2016
Thank you for confirming what I already knew/felt. The last situation was a 30 year old woman who completely understood her gum disease and wanted to treat it but just couldn’t afford the Arestin and ending up leaving without making her appointment. That really upset me! I will read the article you posted, thank you! Another hygienist at that practice and I were talking about how scaling someone and placing Arestin with fair homecare doesn’t seem to have as good results as scaling alone with excellent homecare. And homecare is free! Thanks for your quick response and support 🙂
