I was wondering when or how often RDH’s recieve wage increases.. I’m in San Diego, I’ve been a hygienist for 2 years, working with the same doctor my whole career (7 yrs as an RDA/2 yrs as an RDH).. CA minimum wage is going up in January then again in 2016 and 2017, am I entitled to a “cost of living” increase too??
I started working at my practice at 4 years ago and have been increased by 5 dollars an hour. I never ask for a raise, I do my job well and am happily delighted when i get one. I don’t think your entitled to get a cost of living increase raise. You are allowed to discuss it with your boss, but entitled? not the word choice that i would use with him.
At my current office I did not receive a raise until a year and a half there. I agree with Nicesmile that you should do your job well and not expect a raise in return. It should be a welcomed surprise when it happens.

Thank you for your response.. "entitled" was a poor choice of words and would never use that with him.. I guess I am just wondering how often hygienist get raises..
