Restorative functions hygiene

Can anyone who works as a restorative hygienist shed some light on how their schedule works? With the Doctor having to prep and then check the restorations prior to patient dismissal, how is this all worked into the schedule so the flow is smooth?

The patient is scheduled with the doc first for however long the prep will take. Then scheduled with you for you to fill. The doc would come in, just like a normal hygiene exam, to then check the restoration (instead of checking for decay). It should run just as seamlessly as if you were scaling the patient and the doc was coming in to do a recall exam.
