I’m applying for jobs and I’m not sure how to word something. I applied for my license, and my state board received my application August 28th. They say it will take a MINIMUM of 30 days from that date to receive my number. I’ve yet to receive it, though. How should I put this on my application?? It doesn’t sound right when I try to sum up the situation! Thanks!
Are you a newly licensed RDH? I remember having to wait for my license to appear online before sending out my resume.
I would state the date that your state board says you should receive it. I would take the date they received your app and add 30 days. “My license is expected to arrive by September 28, and I am ready to get right to work.”
I had many applications out while my license was being ‘processed’ by my state board. I made it well known that I was ready to work and my license was currently being processed. That at least let employers know that it was on its way. This is something I would state in the last part of my cover let (at least that’s how I did it) – I wrote out my CL and then stated that all my boards were passed successfully and that my license was currently being processed by the state board.
I was hired before I received my board test results. The office knew I would not start work until my temp license while waiting on the official license. It was never an issue. Some offices will contact the school looking to interview new graduates with the knowledge of waiting on the license. Don’t worry. It will all work out.
I am! I'm trying to send out some resumes before-hand as I'm planning on moving to a new town & would like to get a head-start on the job hunt :)
