Scaling Max Anteriors

I am having difficulty engaging my blade when scaling surfaces towards on the lingual and buccal for max anteriors, My wrist gets all weird and my middle finger isnt delivering enough lateral pressure. I usually sit at 12 o’clock and use an H6/7 (or 13/14 if they have sev bone loss), What am I doing wrong?? What instrument do you use on this sextant/ what position are you and the pt in? Any advice is appreciated! Merci!

I use an anterior sickle or Gracey 1/2 for anteriors, generally speaking. For surfaces toward, I sit at 8 o’clock and away I sit at 12 o’clock. Maybe your fulcrum isn’t right? If you search Youtube for “H6/7” there are tutorials for that specific instrument. Sometimes having a visual is the best way to learn. You can search Youtube for “scaling maxillary anteriors” and other search terms too, there’s lots of great info to be found and videos are super helpful!
