Temp hygienist

So the past two times when we have had a temporary hygienist come help out the automatically give all the production to the doctor that she completes. I was wondering, is that fair? I understand I did not personally do it but..neither did she and wouldn’t thay be illegal or something in some way? Also when I personally have gone temping the production I make is labeled hygiene so I don’t get why they are doing this..so she keeps the money? I just think it’s unfair…i have yet to bring it up but my review is coming up and if like to get some opinions on this before getting it out.

In my office, we don’t have temp hygienists very often, but when we do we have a special production option that goes until “HygX” which means a substitute hygienist. I personally think it is important to have it billed out as hygiene because you will be able to track that production as the hygiene department. Maybe your office doesn’t have a production option like this? I would think if you would bring it up to your doctor, they would make it so you have this option.
Good luck! I think it is something you could bring up in your review. Maybe your doctor just didn’t really think about it and if you bring it up they will realize and change it!
