Titan power scaler

Please help! I am filling in for a hygienist at another office for the first time tomorrow. I figured it would be no problem until I found out they don’t have a cavitron, and use a Titan! Does anyone have any tips or tricks for someone who has only used (and loves) a cavitron. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

Well I don’t think you’re going to like my answer. First I haven’t laid eyes on a titan in like 20 years however it does give you an edge over just hand scaling but I think too many hygienists rely on “modern” technology to do the job hygienists have been doing for 75+years.Products like Ultrasonics for scaling and RINN for xrays make our jobs easier and more effective but you should be able ( and I’m sure you are ) to do the work the “old Fashioned” way. Thankfully they at least have a sonic scaler hopefully its not 20 years old! ( not sure if they still manufacture them or not!)

Too bad you don’t have your own cavitron. Good luck!
