I have orascoptic and I LOVE them!!! They’re so durable and fit so absolutely well! Not to mention there is a period that you can use them and then return if they are not working for you. You can also get prescriptions added and a free prescription change with purchase. I’m not sure of pricing now because I purchased when in school at a discounted rate, but they are incredible! They will also tell you what frames work best with your face. Ex: High cheek bones? Well the sport frames will fog up on you.

I also use orascoptic loupes and they are the best! I also purchased in school so they were much cheaper. I have fellow hygienist friends who purchased cheaper brands in school and they now no longer use theirs as they broke. So orascoptic definitely lasts. As with a light I want to get one soon for mine. I know there are several companies out there that make lights that would work with these loupes. Do some research or attend your state’s dental conferences (thats where I found a lot of information).

I have design by vision. They too have a money back guarantee. They custom fit you as well. The light is awesome and super light weight. I believe you are looking at around $2200 for loupes and light with two batteries.

orascoptic with light. Have worked 27 years with out loupes. An EFDA in our office had them. I had always thought to get them but they were too expensive. The other hygienist in the office 28 years practicing wanted a pair too. We knew they would help us with posture and all around ergonomics. I applied for a safety grant with the BWC and it was approved it helped with the cost. It has helped us so much…

I had DFV TTL for 8 years……($1200). I had severe pain in neck, shoulders, arms, wrists and hands. Thought I would be disabled soon. At first the DFV helped ergonomics from being able to see better… The Designs for Vision salesman didn’t know much about ergonomics. I trusted him to know how to fit me correctly. Over the years I have done my research and I thnk I’d be better at fitting hygienists for loopes than any of the salesmen I’ve come across over the years.
I’ve recently bought SurgiTel Radar Flip up with motion activated light. Immediately from the first use I noticed all my pain was slowly going away. The new loupes provide a very step declination angle and I even went up in magnification fom DFV 2.5 to a SurgiTel 3.5 magnification. Best $2200 I’ve ever spent. Wish I had SurgiTel from day one. Wish I had thoroughly researched and knew what to look for from day one. I owe my vast knowledge of loupes to Posturedontics.
