I have used Ever Edge and then discovered XP Technology from American Eagle. They are the ONLY true no sharpening instrument on the market. XP Technology is a patented surface engineering process; a very fancy scientific program that allows American Eagle to empregnate TiN into a stainless steel instrument and change the metallurgical composition of the instruments surface, giving it the properties of a much more durable material. In the instrument business the durability and longevity of instruments is based on the rockwell scale of hardness. Standard dental instruments are manufactured using stainless and carbon steels, reaching a rockwell scale hardness between 58-63. The special characteristics of XP Technology achieve an incredible rockwell scale hardness of 89. This makes American Eagle instruments the most durable on the market. An analogy for you: We all know that when we paint something its on the surface. After this paint dries, I can come back and most likely pick it off with my finger nails, right? But if I am to stain this piece of wood, it is embedded into the surface, I can’t wash it off or even pick it off with my nails. I only use American Eagle XP Technology instruments!
