WREB Restorative exam

I just took the WREB Restorative exam and failed with a 72%. How many people actually do restorative in Oregon. I want to retake the exam but have to wait until September. Do you have any suggestions on how to keep up my skills. I will be leaving school here in three weeks and will have no support to practice.

All of my classmates passed. I went to school in Washington where restorative was part of our curriculum. We had lab and clinic once a week for it and went through the summer. I did restos on my own brother. 🙂

Just practice the basics on your training. Stay fresh on your anatomy and carving.
If you want more help, Clark College in Vancouver, WA. has a 2 week summer course and the instructors are fantastic!!
As far as your restorative functions in Oregon, not many dentists are utilizing hygienists for that yet, but I feel that will change over time. You can apply anytime for the restorative functions, practice your skills and retake the WREB in Sept. You have seen how they run things and will do great your second time!

I am glad you posted about this! I have been thinking about taking the WREB restorative exam, but everyone I know who has, has failed! Even one of my instructors back in hygiene school (who is married to a dentist) failed! I’ve always been curious to see pass rates… Good luck to you! I’m excited to see other hygienists’ suggestions.

I’ve considered looking into it. However, not sure I would really get to use it much here.
